Meet Nicolas Bolton,
Raised in Los Angeles, Nicolas began his work as a young actor in community theatre musicals and gradually moved into the commercial and print world, while also training in acting and improv from the age of 12.
Nicolas recently earned his BFA in Acting from Boston University, where he worked extensively on new plays and became deeply engaged in the fundamentals of comedy. Leading him to study at the Accademia dell’Arte in an intensive program, where he explored clown work and physical theatre. Shortly after, he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) as a semester student to deepen his study of classical heightened text, focusing on Shakespeare and the Comedy of Manners.
His recent credits include Octavius in Julius Caesar and Jason in Medea, both of which offered him the opportunity to explore powerfully emotional men within classical texts. Nicolas is also set to play Benvolio in Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s production of Romeo and Juliet, where he looks forward to continuing his exploration of classical work within a professional ensemble.
Nicolas is drawn to characters who live in moral complexity; charismatic, guarded, and unexpectedly vulnerable. Across his work, he leans into storytelling that prioritizes emotional honesty, humor, and human contradiction. Through his storytelling, Nicolas hopes to contribute to and expand the world’s capacity for compassionate storytelling.
